At the end of the day during a Q+A the Coaches put themselves in the firing line and take questions from the delegates. A great way to wrap things up.

REVIEW BY MATT SMITH… LONDON SEMINAR

EXF/Perform Better Learn by Doing Seminar, London – a review

What has Mary Poppins got to do with strength and conditioning? Well this is just one of the many gems you’ll find out if you get yourself along to one of the seminars.

Each of the coaches delivered a presentation on their topics. Charlotte Ord explained why the kettlebell is an essential tool in the fat loss coach’s arsenal. Matt Lovell made me realise I know nothing about nutrition! Nick Grantham entertainingly told us why everyone should train like an athlete. Duncan French dropped some knowledge bombs and shared ideas on how to prepare to perform. Neil Parsley used real world examples of how to get combat athletes ready to rumble.

In the afternoon the coaches did their ‘hands on’ which is the practical demonstration of what they’ve been talking about. And this is where things get really interesting. It’s one thing to hear someone talk about what you do, but quite another to see it, feel it and do it. This is the stuff you can take away and start using on Monday morning to make an impact with your athletes and clients.

I particularly liked the Q&A at the end. The presenters put themselves in the firing line and took questions from the delegates. It was a great way to wrap things up.

In the US, the Perform Better 1-days and the 3-day summits are musts on the continuing education calendar. The line up of speakers is like a who’s who of experts in the field today and of course many of them are American. Here in the UK, we just don’t have anything like that – until now. With the EXF learn by doing seminar series, EXF are providing a platform where the best of British can share their knowledge and expertise. Now it’s up to you to be there. I have been fortunate to have learnt from many great US coaches but I’ve had to cross an ocean. Hopefully now we will have access to leading education closer to home.

EXF FITNESS & PERFORM BETTER USA – STRENGTH IN PARTNERSHIP

PRESS INFORMATION

In an exciting move major names in the UK and American fitness and training industries have joined forces to open up new territories worldwide.

Suffolk based EXF Fitness has been a significant player in the UK fitness industry for over 15 years, and Perform Better USA is held in the highest regard in America and is thrilled to be venturing further afield.

EXF Managing Director Charles Burch sees the tie-in with the American functional training and rehabilitation experts as a perfect natural fit.

“It is hard to imagine two better matched companies. We’re all about quality and service and ongoing working relationships with clients. We have no interest in cutting corners for the sake of quick sales or increased margins and we will always go the extra mile for customers. Perform Better USA operates the same way and has based its tremendous US success on that ethos. We believe our role in the industry is about much more than simply winning the business and moving on. We are also there to provide advice and expertise to the very highest level. By teaming up we are enhancing both companies, strengthening our domestic positions and moving into new international markets”.

Chris Poirier of Perform Better USA echoed these thoughts and added, “This is a very exciting time for both companies. We have tremendous strength in collaboration and form a very natural partnership. Education has always been a core principle for us. We have never seen our role as simply selling great training equipment to people, we also want to inform, teach and coach to ensure that customers and clients are equipped with the latest knowledge and understanding and are able to carry that into their training to optimise performance and results”.

EXF has already put together an elite stable of fitness, strength and sport specific experts who are on hand to advise the company and its customers as well as take part in technical seminars around the country. The provision of knowledge and motivation is a key element of the EXF Perform Better USA partnership.

Plans are also in place for key figures to attend summits during which EXF Perform Better USA will tackle specific subjects, collate thoughts and ideas and harness them to move forward positively.

EXF’s strong product and service portfolio – which includes a full range of quality training kit and accessories as well as the capacity to design and manufacture bespoke one-off products if necessary – has been enhanced even further by Perform Better USA’s catalogue of premium standard items. And the two-way relationship means that more than 30 of EXF’s own products will be made available through its new partner in the USA.

“In many way the world is a much smaller place than it used to be. Taking on high class American products and reciprocating with our own items to our American partner makes practical and logistical sense in this day and age”, explained Charles.

And armed with this formidable array of products, services and expertise new territories are being opened up in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Australasia.

A truly dynamic period of development lies ahead for the EXF Perform Better USA partnership. A series of initiatives, announcements and high profile endorsements are lined up over coming months that are sure to catch the eye, create a stir and drive the business forward whilst adding value to the  sports, fitness and training industry.

At a time when the economic downturn has forced many companies to tighten belts and consolidate,  Charles Burch admitted he has never been more energised and excited about the current state of his business and future plans. “We have the right people, products, services and expertise in place which, combined with our plans over coming months, adds up to a thrilling time for us and our industry.”

Both EXF Fitness and Perform Better USA are keen to stress that neither company nor their partnership has any connection with Perform Better Ltd UK.

EXF PERFORM BETTER USA SEMINAR IPSWICH WAS JUST INCREDIBLE.

The first EXF Perform Better ‘Learn by Doing’ seminar was held last Saturday.  The day was a fantastic sucess with both the delegates and the coaches thoroughly enoying themselves.  Many thanks to the UCS for providing such a great venue and for making us so welcome and also,  to everyone who helped to make the day run so smoothly.

The Coaching team – Nick, Duncan, Brendan and Matt were simply awesome – with their relaxed a informative approach.  Feedback from the coaches was that they were really impressed that everyone really got stuck into the afternoons practical sessions (even the EXF PB folks).

Roll on the 27th of March – we are all really looking forward to the next seminar in London; we look forward to seeing you there…

In the words of Nick Grantham :-

‘What a great opening event on Saturday in Ipswich. Great job by the team at EXF on pulling the event together. I’m looking forward to London next month with Charlotte Ord and I’m hoping we can get Matt Lovell along to London as a special guest – damn his cooking demo yesterday was good and what a treat to get some great… homemade recovery shakes to refuel after 2.5hours of ‘hands on’ practicals!’
